The Harz landscape is legendary. Even the two most famous german poets Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Heinrich Heine explored the trails on long hikes. It was the source of inspiration for Goethes drama „Faust“. It`s probably the most important piece in german literature. The Harz ist known for its National Park with the Brocken mountain. Enjoy the flora and fauna on a hike or on a trip by bicycle. You can also take the steam-powered train Harzer Schmalspurbahn through the Selke Valley and up to the Brocken.
