Klopstockhouse

The birthplace of Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock is home to the Museum of Literature. The exhibition is dedicated to the work and life of the poet. He is one of the most significant figures in the era of enlightenment. In contrast to other poets of this era he was an advocator of sensitiveness. He is considered to be the founder of the German Irrationalism. His work had a deep impact on poets like Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Gotthold Ephraim Lessing.
